HELP, QUESTION: Water Heater Thermostate

A home thermostat reacts to a 1*F change. A water heater thermostat reacts to a 10* change. If it is far from the heat the incubator has to go up an down 10* before the thermostat cycles. If its close to the heat then it absorbs heat faster then the rest of the incubator an in the time it takes the thermostat to absorb that 10* of heat the incubator goes up about 1* or 2* then the thermostat kicks off. The air of the incubator quickly drops the temp of the thermostat back to where the rest of the incubator is which is just over the thermostat kick on temp. So when the thermostat cools any the thermostat kicks right back on. You want it to absorb heat faster then the incubator as a hole.

Terri how is yours doing on keeping temps?...its night time again....last night you had problems....

Temps have been right around 100.6-100.8 ... I've closed off the top vent holes and opened the "door" on the window a little bit to let a little heat escape the glass but not a lot.. So, we shall see how we do tonight.. I only had to adjust the temp once today to get the temp down a little bit as it was getting around 102 and didn't want it to get higher than that so i put a straw in to prop the top hatch open and pushed the hatch down so that there was a space of only a few centimeters letting the heat out... I'm on top of this... But, in another 20 days, i will be lucky to have hair left...

ok, so whats the FINAL answer on this?....after reading all this and my doctor appt today MY HEAD IS SPINNING...*medication*...

With all this said...can the thermometers be a degree or 2 off and still do ok? there's no headspinning smilie...LOL
