Ok so i have 4 quails 1 male 3 femals and right now im feeding them wild bird feed mixed with black oil sunflower seeds and cracked corn with grit oyster shells and sometimes they get boiled eggs mixed with dill and crushed egg shells. my question is can i feed them some egg layer food i have for my chicks. the quails lay eggs but not alot so is the egg layer good for them or no?

You can find game bird feed, starter feeds at your local AG mart. Purina has a brand of game bird (starter I'm sure), though I've not used it - so not sure on chemicals - if you're going organic or not.

IF you use layer, I would mix it with say chick starter & offer calcium sources on the side for the girls (egg shells, crushed oyster, etc). I believe too high calcium would hurt the boys (at least it does in chickens).
