Help! Raw spots on hen and roo.

My hen has a bald raw spot above her tail feathers. It’s been there for a month now. Last night I noticed our rooster has something similar on his neck. I assumed the hens spot is because of mating. Any idea what is causing this??

Hen's bald spot may be from mating or feather plucking. Rooster is molting and 'shiny' sheaths of new feathers are showing.
