I have nursed my Americana hen after a dog mauled her. She lost a lot of skin on her neck. Finally, after a month, that has healed, but I know her neck must still bother her. But she had been eating well until recently. Yesterday I noticed that her upper beak has grown out and under, sort of like a fingernail, making it difficult to pick things up. Would it hurt her to trim this so it's the same length as the lower like it used to be? I think this is happening because moving her neck hurt her so she didn't peck as much and naturally wear down the beak. Could this be correct? I'm also going to do Internet search, but wanted to post this here right away. Thank you!!
