I have a big problem. Tomorrow is the 18th day and I am unable to get into my school to remove the egg turner. How bad is it if I remove it first thing Monday Morning on day 19?

If this is what you have to do then just make sure you do it first thing.
You may have pips at 19 days and you may not.
Best of luck I'm sure you'll be okay.

I am not sure how much, if at all....."damage" it would do to your chicks? I mean, does a hen who sits on her eggs "count" the days???

I would just be gettin up at the break of dawn and get to school really early...

Hope it all works out well.......sorry could not be of more assistance.

More info. I can't get into the school at all. I put them in on a Thursday at about 2:00pm. The only options I had with removing the turner was yesterday at day 16 or Monday so I can't even unplug the egg turner today as suggested

I'm just still freaking out and probably will be until Monday Morn. I just wondering if anyone else can help or put my mind a little at ease. Thanks a bunch Karla

I had chicks and peacocks hatch on me in the turner, with the turner still plugged in. They were just fine. It sounds as if you will have enough time to get to them before they hatch anyway. Good luck with your babies.

Don't worry, everything should be fine.

I had 2 different sets of eggs in a hovabator. When the first set was ready I moved them to a hatcher. Well, I walked between the incubator and hatcher and heard peeping on the wrong side. I missed 3 eggs in the incubator and 2 were pipping. I moved them to the hatcher and they finished hatching out perfectly fine.

If you started them on a Thursday they should finish on a Thursday. Counting back from there Monday would be day 18 the way I figure. I think you will be just fine.
