HELP Rooster or hens

6 and 9 are the only girls. You can create a bachelor pad for the boys. (I found this picture) but this is how you can tell tell 12 or more weeks if it’s a boy.

Are you allowed to have roosters in your area? It may be worth it to get some more hens from a hatchery and keep a roo around.
Yes I am allowed. I’d like to keep one of each and separate the two breeds. I prefer at least 10 hens... I wanted to make sure of the genders before I started trying rehome them. I suppose I need to start posting them. I’m going to get better pictures of all and repost first! I ordered some leg bands to help keep them all straight in my head.

You already have the two hens. Where did you get these? Were they straight run? Are you going to try to breed them?

But they all have the long saddle feathers except 6, 9 and 10 who is missing.
If they have the long saddle feathers, they are most definitely boys. We've already determined that 6 and 9 are girls. By '10 who is missing' do you mean that you don't have a picture so missing from the post, or actually missing like got taken by a predator?

Missing from the post. It looks identical to 6

I got All the Giants from a friend who breeds them, and I bought the coppers from Tractor supply. I would like to breed them at some point. Not now tho. Next year. I want to research it over the winter so I’m prepared.
If you're interesting in breeding them, I recommend looking at the APA Standard of perfection for Jersey Giants and black copper marans. Any roos that have obvious flaws or are aggressive to you or the hens you should cull or rehome. Narrow it down to a couple from each breed, than wait until they develop further. Tractor Supply has hatchery stock birds. If you would like to get into breeding marans, I recommend getting some show quality birds that will have pure blood (I sound like lucius malfoy lol) as they shouldn't have defects that will come out later, and will be closer to the SOP.
