The only way I can tell, from what I read, is in the first couple days if you look at the wings, if they have two sets of feathers it's a hen and one straight row it's a hen.. Ex...

The pic is not the best but it has two rows of feathers.. So it's suppose to be a girl... Pic isn't the best :/

That is a method that some use, but it isn't very accurate. You could try it, but I wouldn't 100% trust it..

Understood, but it's worth a shot at least, the people where my chicks came from, said that's how they do it. I just hope the theory turns out right, or I will have all roosters! Lol it has to be done in the first three to four days of life.

They said that came in on march 10 so I'm 8 days to late appx. So when will they have most of their feathers?

Oh ... Well I got mine the first day arrival, but still doesn't guarantee how old they really are I guess. I've also read that you can look at the vents maybe for you in a week or so and if they have a more prominent bump then it's a boy, but that may take more of a trained eye. It's all a waiting game! :)

The wing feather sexing works on some birds that are bred to be able to be sexed that way due to different feather growth rates between males and females. The sexing has to be done within 2 days of hatch or it's inaccurate. I think what Kelly13 meant was if it's a pullet (female) when you spread a wing it will have 2 rows of wing feathers of 2 different lengths... like so " IiIiIiIiI " and if it's a roo it will have wing feathers that are all the same length like so "IIIIIIII". This method isn't really accurate in birds not bred for this characteristic. Barred Rocks, as far as I know can't be feather sexed this way. Your best bet is to wait another 6 weeks or more and then post new pictures of your cutie pie there.
