Help!! Rooster Wars

Sometimes agression is like a switch in roosters. Some, although few, will fight to the death and with hormones raging will put all their effort into fighting. Another reason many butcher extras 14-16 weeks old, before they get tough and stringy from fighting all the time.

Today I had the same problem early in the morning me( dum) I went and got a new rooster from my neighbor and put him with my flock and as soon as he entered the run my first 6 month old rooster jumped on the new dud and tried to kill him so I took the new one strait away out and I had him for dinner this evening,I think that was the best soloution.

Check out my page on roo behavior, it might be of some help.

The link is in my sig line.

I wonder if chickens can get rabies?

Sounds like he definitely had something...maybe a mental condition.
Anyway, I hate that you had to lose him, but your other chickens are glad!

Rebecca, only mammals can get rabies.
