Hi all,
could anyone help me sex my black silkie? he/she is between 6 & 7 weeks old

Way too son to tell for me. I normally wait months and months! hehe

It's too soon to say for sure... but I'm guessing pullet because of the narrower looking comb, small petite feet and full looking do on top

BUT... ANY of those things could change in the coming months. Good luck!

It is too soon to tell. Don't hold me to it, but it does have a pullet-ish look to it.

The absolute sure way to sex a silkie is:

1) If it lays an egg - it's a pullet!
2) If it crows - it's a Roo!

Sorry, but I keep hearing how hard it is to sex them until they are much older.

The feathering looks like all 3 of my 6.5 week old silkie roosters. My females feathered faster and looked like cute fluff balls a lot sooner. My males still don't have much neck feathering (like yours) and they also have the feathers on the top of their head sticking up wildly (like yours). Does he have the little spur bumps on his legs? Neither of my girls do at 6 weeks old. I'll try to take some photos today to show you the difference.

I love the Silkie gender guessing game.

I am confident that this one is a pullet for all the reasons that Guitarists mentioned. In the first picture it looks like she only has 4 toes on one of her feet. Is that just the picture?
