Here we go again!! I just got 3 chicks in the spring, 1 of them an Americana who quickly showed me that he is a roo. I just picked up two 'replacement' americana's frkm a farmer last week, and I am fearing the worst - Maybe both roo's! Both have different sized combs and different feathering patterns (one has a long feathery tail and one has a stumpy no feather butt!) but I see pink on their combs at 6-7 weeks and I fear this is early. Can anyone take a look and back me up or prove me wrong? I know 6 weeks is early, but I was pretty sure about my current roo at 7 weeks and by 10 weeks he was already crowing! The two photos look the same, but they are actually different birds.

@aglandaetap Sure! I will get some tomorrow. I know you are supposed to do That, but they are so different I didn't think their feathers could be accurately counted on! I know 6 weeks is early, I am just getting tired of this baby chicken merry-go-round I am on. I just keep them as pets and only am interested in hens, so I am anxious to weed out the roosters and finally settle my little flock!

Yes, you are probably right about them being EE's. They were called ameraucana by the farmer, and have slate legs with lighter grey on the bottoms of their feet, and muffs/beards, but the farmer also told me the rooster was ameraucana and the hen was 3/4 ameraucana- whatever that means! Hence why I used the 'slang spelling' - I know they are mutts, haha! Here are photos of them standing and from above, please excuse the state of the cage, they spilled water while I was at work this morning and this was pre clean up:

I know there is a really large thread on this that I can post photos, but I can't seem to find it!

You think both may be pullets? Even with pink combs at 6 weeks and both of them feathering differently in their tails? I would be pretty pumped if they are, but maybe a little gun shy because I haven't had the best of luck so far in getting one!
