HELP!!! sexing 4 week old barnevelders

help!!! we just bought 2 barnevelder chicks that were said to be female but one of them seems to be an imposter. he/she has a slightly larger comb than the other, it’s back feathers are growing in more slowly, it’s tail sticks up a little more, it’s legs are more yellow and it’s very outgoing.

^^^this is Beaker (the suspect)

and this is bean, we don’t suspect her.

what are y’all’s thoughts????

you will probably get more answers on the chicks if you post a thread in the “What breed/gender is this” topic. Personally I would wait till your birds are older to sex them, I always wait till they are about two months old unless they are a auto sexing breed.

How old is Beaker ? I've never had a barnvelder but I would think that a male wouldn't be as consistently laced. Good luck!

Welcome! It's hard to tell for certain at 4wks, but I'd be highly suspicious that your Beaker is indeed male.
