The one with the big, wide comb and wide bands of white is a cockerel. The one with the small comb and narrow white bands is a pullet.

Thanks for the reply. That's what I was thinking too. Is there any reason I shouldn't keep the cockerel even if I don't want more chickens? I'm not planning on eating anybody. I'd just feel bad to give him away if he could live a happy chicken life with us.

If you are allowed to keep him, you have plenty of hens for him, and he behaves himself, I don't see why you wouldn't keep him.
