Help sexing Salmon Faverolles

They are stunning birds. I'm glad I picked up some. Though a little bummed I have to rehome three of the boys. Too many roosters.

Yeah I had never heard of them until I went into tractor supply a few weeks ago and they were having fall chick days (I didn't even know they did that lol). I actually walked out without any chicks because we don't exactly need any more but I went home and googled the breeds they had (they just had a handwritten sign with the name of the different breeds of chicks) and when I saw how cute the Faverolles are I went back and got some haha. They seem so goofy already! They're way more spazzy than the other chicks we've had.

And I know all about having too many roosters! We have 5 right now, all about 5 months old. Four of them will be going in the freezer probably next week. I'll be glad to get them out of here because they're getting pretty annoying lol and it'll free up a lot of space in the coop, but I know I'll be sad about it. This is our first year having chickens and they were the first ones I raised from just a couple days old.

It's shocking that TSC actually had the chicks labeled correctly.

I sent my extra Faverolles cockerels to the freezer last year at 14-15 weeks. It worked out much better than waiting until they got larger. They were much more tender and were great on the grill. Not to mention a lot less drama in the coop before they left, because they were younger.

I was just surprised they had something besides RIR, BR, and sex links lol! They also had Cuckoo Marans and Wellsummers. I've checked back every week since and they're back to RIR and sex links though.

I wanted to get rid of our extra boys months ago but my husband said they were too scrawny. He's more of a quantity over quality kind of guy so he insisted on waiting until they had a little more meat on their bones they've definitely caused a lot of drama though! We won't be waiting so long next time. There are 4 BR and 1 RIR, and the BR literally terrorized the poor RIR for a while there. They've settled down now, but the poor guy keeps his distance and doesn't even look at the girls lol. Four of them will be going to the freezer on my husband's next day off. I want them out of there so I can move the brooder out into the coop without worrying about those mean roosters trying to attack them through the cage.
