Help sexing some chick please...

I have some chicks that I suspect are roos but wanted an opinion of more knowledgeable people than I which could be almost anyone.

First on the list is a 6-7 week old Blue Laced Red Wayndotte.

These are almost 4 week old Black Copper Marans...

Any help is greatly appreciated.

They all look like roosters except for the first copper Maran, that may be a pullet. You should wait another week or so to know for sure.

Thank you. That's what I thought as well. A real bummer.

Chick #1 (BCM) looks like a possible pullet. The rest lean heavily toward cockerel. BUT there are cases where pullets sometimes develop large, red combs and even sometimes wattles prior to the norm.

So dont give up hope just yet but also dont get your hopes up too high. Remain neutral haha. Roos will also chest bump more at an earlier age and will carry themselves higher/more upright than the ladies.

Between 8-9 weeks, my RIR roos are starting to get some sickle feathers so those are another thing to look for in the coming weeks.

I'm no expert on the matter but those are the clues I've picked up on.

All but Marans #1 appear to be cockerels...bummer.
Those red wattles at 5-6 weeks are almost a guarantee of cockerel.
Sickle, hackle, and saddle feathers do not appear until bird is 3-4 months old....
.....tho cockerels can have a curvier tail feathers than pullets earlier than that.
