I haven't bred BCM so I'm not familiar with their SOP, I've just known some birchen birds (oegb) where lesser quality roos did not have as much neck color as they should have had, which made them less obvious color wise to ID (but had enormous combs since oegbs mature fast lol)

This one's iffy still but I'd guess male with that amount of Copper showing at that age. Typically females won't show copper for a few more weeks yet. I'm thinking its a late blooming cockerel as far as reddening of the comb. The size of the comb and Copper this early sways towards male.
