Does anybody have experience telling the sex of a Welsummer chick at a few days to a week old? Is it even possible? My local feed/farm store got some in, but they are straight run, and I don't want any roosters, especially for the price they want for the chicks. Also, are there any other chicks that look like Welsummers? They have a bin of "rainbow layers" and some of the chicks look identical to the Welsummer chicks. They are not Americana/ easter eggers. I asked about them and they are just misc. brown egg layers mixed together for a variety of chickens in your flock. All the rainbow layers are pullets, and they are cheaper than the bin of just Welsummer chicks. Thanks for any advice.
