HELP: shell-less eggs, broken soft shell (in vent), white and foamy diarrhea.

Thank y'all for the replies. I don't have a vet (yet) and again, do want to try and stay off drugs if at all possible. I do the same for my own health and don't want to treat them any different. Nothing against them, per se, but try and avoid.

So no one knows of any homeopathic options?

Look for something that will treat E. coli.

I'm sorry I don't know any homeopathic options.
Someone like @coach723 or @Hen Pen Jem may be able to make some suggestions.

Greetings DirtyHarrysHenHarem,

I use holistic treatments as much as possible on my chickens. Meaning, I use herbal and natural remedies, along with supportive care for the chicken's comfort and psychological state. But, the successful use of these treatments, require that the patient have a good body mass, at the start of treatment, and that treatment begins early on in the disease.

I agree with Wyorp Rock, casportpony and Eggcessive, they have given you solid advice.

But, if you are adamant on treating only with homeopathic treatment (hair of the dog treatment, so to speak), this is a different way of healing. It uses substances that produce similar symptoms. I don't use homeopathic healing.

If you would like to treat with herbs, Goldenseal has been shown to be effective against E. Coli. Echinacea is usually teamed up with Goldenseal to boost the immune system. I also include Colloidal Silver in the chicken's water to boost antibacterial effectiveness.

Consider how many days the chicken has been ill, that you know of, when deciding on a treatment. If she has been ill for more than 48 hours, the clock is ticking. She may not have time for the Goldenseal to reach the infection. I do believe, from looking at your photos, that she has an infection in the reproductive system. If her eyes are closing, she is very ill.

If she were my hen, I would start her on Doxycycline 50 mg., once a day, 7 days. And I would include 10 drops, Colloidal Silver, 40 ppm, in a half gallon water, for the hen to drink.

These are my thoughts on your hen's health issue. I hope I have been helpful.

God Bless :)
