I block a nest with a broody and eggs in it, and let her out once a day (in the morning while I do my chores) for 15 min. Then the broody likes to get back on her nest and I close her up again. I mark the eggs and remove any extras, but for the most part, works out. When the chicks hatch I move them to a separate area for a couple weeks, because of crows.
