I ordered from Welp. I went in with four friends who live near me and we ordered 62 chicks, 12 different breeds. They're supposed to arrive in March. Excited!
I have been thinking and I am probably gonna go with the Blue laced Reds. I am ordering them from Murray McMurray hatchery and they only sell straight run. So hopefully I will be able to get 6 hens and 1 roo.
One of the reasons I ordered from Welp is because they offer pullets on some of the breeds the other hatcheries only sell as straight runs. Also, their price includes shipping.
I really like the laced Wyandottes, so I'm getting some gold laced, silver laced, and the blue laced reds. I'm also getting a few Salmon Favorelles just because I think they're pretty.
Oh, and a few Partridge Rocks and more EEs, of course.
Beware: once you start getting chickens, you won't be able to stop. It will become an obsession.
lol! Thats exactly what happened to me! we wanted 3 hens for eggs... well... we got 23!!!!!
I want to build my own individual coop for ONE breed this time and im going for the wyandottes. I have a friend who has a gold laced and I think she is just beautiful!!!
I just posted a new thread about my experience so far. Welp has been very flexible with the changes I've made to the order. I hope yours from MM come in good shape!!!
