I have an OEGB that was sitting on 6 eggs since 06/23/20. I candled them today and they are all progressing well! I went out to my coop to give my other chickens some treats and I noticed my smooth feathered serama hen that has been broody is sitting on the 6 eggs and the OEGB was sitting in an empty nest box beside the smooth feathered serama. The smooth feathered serama was originally sitting on 3 different eggs that has now been taken over by my frizzle serama pullet who has became broody (she's a little over 5 months old). I feel like a lot is going on in there and they all keep switching off. Should I let them work together or should I take the 6 eggs that are developed and move the OEGB into a seperate housing situation. I'm afraid if I move her it will stress her out. I've never let a broody hen hatch her own eggs before so i'm not exactly sure what I should do. Everytime I go out there is always a hen on the eggs. I plan to let the mothers raise the chicks in the same coop but move a nest box to the ground so the chicks can have access to food and water. My nest box situation is attached. It is hanging on the wall in my coop. View attachment 2217634

You could just give 3 eggs to her and let the other one have the other 3 that way they both get to sit and get to hatch. Unless you don't want both hens sitting. You can just move her off the eggs and give them back to the original sitter and try to break the other one out of her broody spell since she has not laid any to hatch herself. You can put her in a wire crate with no nesting for a few days and I even heard on this site of sitting her in ice water to cool her underside and it helps them break broodiness.
