Turkey hen mating injuries

Looking for suggestions on preventing mating injuries with one of our turkey hens. The tom only seems to injure one of the girls but not the others. We've had to separate her a couple times now so she can heal up. I haven't noticed any difference in her behavior during mating from the other hens. Any thoughts?

As @Molpet said, use a hen saddle on her and clip his toenails.

We've already ground down his talons. I'm a little hesitant with the saddle, all the females have a tendency to pick at any type of material. Have you had luck with with those staying intact?

I had them wear out after years of being on.
