Help- shrink wrapped or sticky or both????

I posted yesterday about an egg who had internally pipped yesterday sometime before 6pm and is in day 30 of incubation. He looked like he was continuously trying to poke through the shell but couldn't so I have an air sac hole around 5-6pm. He moves but no peeping. When I checked in the middle of the night there was decreased movement so I made another air sac hole closer to where his bill was and then I was able to see the membrane was all white as far as I could see and kind of wrinkled. This led me to believe he might be shrink wrapped so I wet a qtip and gently touched the membranes to look for vessels. There were still a lot. I out him back in the incubator and checked again in an hour and he looked dry so this time I did coconut oil. The humidity during hatching has been about 70-75% and this is a Pekin or indian runner duck.

STOP! If you can see blood vessels that baby is not ready to hatch. Those vessels need to shrink. If one of those breaks he could bleed to death.

I know that, that's why I haven't done anything. But I need to figure out what I'm looking at here, hence my post. He was internally pipped for 36 hours with no progress so I had to make an air sac and then saw the membrane was all wrapped around him. So I am not going to do anything else but am trying to figure out if I need to lower humidity if it's sticky chick or up humidity if it's shrink wrapped.

What I am seeing looks perfectly normal. They are always packed in really tight. I do not think you have either issue. I understand you did not get an external pip but ducklings take forever to hatch. I think your temperature was low for this egg (maybe a cool spot in the incubator) and so he is behind. I would up your humidity now to keep that membrane from drying out.

Okay, every thing I read and know about hatching ducklings says the time from an internal pip to external pip should not be more than 24 hours and this was over 36 hours and his movement was decreasing. This is a picture with oil on it. I will post one before I oiled it.

Some eggs have tougher membranes than others, it still does not look shrink wrapped to me. You know your baby has air now and that it isn't ready to hatch. If, after the blood vessels have shrunken, you feel an assist in necessary, I have had the best luck only peeling away shell (no membrane) in a belt shape around the egg, in the same place a duckling would zip. Then he can still push out naturally. If you take too much from an end, he has nothing to push against. Good luck!

I have had sticky chicks, there was no yellow goo, just lots of fluid. Are you expecting yellow ducklings? The only other yellow thing I know is the yolk sac but it wouldn't be all over?? The vessels are shrinking, that is good.

Okay, that makes me feel better. Well, it could be a Pekin or an Indian runner or a khaki Campbell so yes I guess it could just be matted and wet fuzz.
