Does anyone know what the symptoms of a chicken that is egg bound are?

yes usually the bird looks as if its straining to lay.it may visit the nest several times.it will be droopy and listless. Sometimes the bird will even walk funny because the egg is stuck. Sometimes a vent exam can help reveal egg binding as you will feel the tip of the egg during the exam. Sometimes the egg is too far up to feel it . usually you will see the symptoms of straining. Still acting normal except she is having a hard time walking??? Any ideas?

hope she makes a full recovery! how is she doing now?

Well she passed a verry large egg 2 days ago, and seemed a little better, layed another normal egg yesterday and seems a little better, but still not 100 percent. The other chickens seem to know that she is still not better because they are picking on her pretty bad. She used to be at the top of the pecking order but now she is at the bottom. I left her in the coop today. I hope she is OK when I get home.
