Sticky saliva all around and in mouth so sticky that she has pine shavings stuck all over her face. Hasn’t moved all day I was sure she would die last night but she is still alive this morning in the same condition. Although she was eating this morning yay! And saliva around mouth seems much less. But now she is back to sleeping. I got tylan and tried giving through syringe which didn’t go so well I made her aspirate and she was flopping all around couldn’t breath. (After researching more I have seen the correct way to give meds/water through syringe) I was sure she was a goner. But still alive this morning. 🙏 I am now just going to sprinkle it in her water and dip her beak in it. Hoping that since I saw her eating a little maybe she is drinking too. Any body have any answered to what this might be? Oh her crop feels empty and I don’t hear any rattling/wheezing respiratory symptoms. No cough or sneeze. (She did have a little bit of a respiratory thing about a week ago that just lasted a day of sneezing and some rattling. But that went away and I don’t hear any of that. I do have her moved inside by herself so I can watch over her way from the other chicks.

I’ve no clue at what this can be.. can she have eaten something sticky? Like a slug or wax from the wood Or anything like that? Does it smell weird?
Thanks for the reply... No smell... and I haven’t let here out to free range yet. She has only been in the inclosed run/hen house. So strange... the antibiotics seemed to help so I’m wondering if it was some sort of infection in her crop that traveled up.

Try injecting the Tylan in the back of their neck or in the breast tissue. Also, Vet RX as a supplement ointment to go on her nostrils and help her breath better. Good luck.
