HELP....Sick chicken....

Make sure that she gets some calcium in crushed oyster shell or crushed egg shells from the kitchen. I throw mine out for the girls like scratch, and they fight over the egg shells.I put the oystershell in a pile in a coffee can or in a pan they eat out of along side feed.

I give them crushed oyster shells in a bowl. For most of the girls it is a big treat. I don't think I remember Elsie running for it, though. Her first egg had a good shell on it. I might try the egg shells and see if maybe she likes them more. Is there a way to prepare them so that they don't associate them as eggs? Do I need to clean them or just let them dry out and crush up? I also hard boil some of them for breakfast on the run.

I got all the girls out last night to free range for about 45 minutes. She ran around like nothing ever happened. I am crossing my fingers that today or tomorrow I get another egg from her.

The shells from hard boiled eggs are best because when you peel them they are all crushed already. Otherwise dry the eggshells and then crush them.
