Please help! We have a sick chicken in a flock of 9. She is acting like she has little energy, she has stuff running out of her eyes, and she sounds like she has a breathing issue. She also has her neck feathers that look like they are falling out. We just separated her from the flock. We put a light on her and she has a cozy nest and wiped her eyes with warm water and cloth. Does she just need some vitamins? Thank you!

They are about 1 year old. Her breathing sounds like there is phlegm in her throat and there is no drainage from her nose and no swelling. The drainage from her eye is thicker but clear.

Has there been any sneezing or cough? Antibiotics such as Tylan 50 or oxytetracycline can be used to treat symptoms of respiratory disease. I would clean the eyes, and use Terramycin eye ointment , plain Neosporin ointment, or Vetericyn eye gel in the eye twice a day.

Thank you. Would the Neosporin hurt her? She hasn't had any sneezing or coughing. I heard that a little Apple cider vinegar would help?

Our lady is doing much better :) mixed some Apple cider vinegar in her water for a few days and that seemed to break up the mucus. Also did the Neosporin for get eyes that are completely better...nothing running out. now she is getting electrolytes in her water and a higher protein food. Thank you for all the help!
