Hello everyone. My 7 moth old Swedish duck can't walk. He tries to stand but fumbles and catches himself with his wings. My first thought was a niacin deficiency so I've been putting brewers yeast in his food. I've done some research and came across botulism. I'm worried that this could be an issue too since he often drinks water out of his pool which I don't clean as frequently. I have another duck that seems healthy and normal. I quarantined the sick duck in his coop with fresh water and his food with brewers yeast. I'm planning on taking him to the vet if things get worse. Let me know anything I can do to help him get better.

Could you please post a video? How long has this been going on?

Thanks! I can’t figure out how to post a video on here. :(
You need to upload the video to a media site and then share the link using the video camera icon to the right of the picture icon above. You can upload to any of these sites: Apple MusicDailymotionFacebookFlickrGiphyImgurInstagramLiveleakMetacafePinterestRedditSoundCloudSpotifyTumblrTwitchTwitterVimeoYouTube

Ok I’ll try this out! :)

The video will be helpful to see. At his age, along with it being sudden, I'm inclined to think the problem is not related to a niacin deficiency, as that usually occurs during growing age, and develops slowly over time. There are other issues such as Botulism, heavy metal poisoning, or deep tramua that could be the culprit.

Where are you located in the world?
Is the duck eating/drinking ok?
Do you have any pictures of his feces?

We are in Oregon and it's often raining (which they love). He is eating an drinking, but I have to provide a bowl of water on the ground because he can't reach his waterer due to him not being able to stand. We are taking him to our avian vet tomorrow morning. My husband is working on getting pictures and videos so I can post them on here.
