HELP!!!!! SICK DUCK! PLEASE

My thought would be lead poisoning with the way you describe her. I would cautious with the ACV if it is lead poisoning because the added acidity will increase the uptake rate of the lead.

The lead could be in the soil... If they are dabbling in the mud, could be ingested that way.

Could there be lead on a brand new cargo trailer? that is the only thing i can think of. Nothing else in their environment has changed. I actually know this sounds anal retentive and crazy but I have had the soil around my house tested before. I have a veggie/herb/citrus garden and I like to know that the soil is safe. ( the fruit/citrus trees are no where near the ducks cause I know the issues that can cause)

The trailer however is only a couple of weeks old, and it was just put in the ducks area. They stayed away from it at first, but now I think they are using it as shelter and shade. Which I dont blame them.. it is near 100 degrees outside. I just didnt think that it could be toxic... but I never really thought about it.

Amiga.. next time I am at the bar, I will have to remember to take a pic. It doesnt happen often, but I have to say it is a very pet friendly bar. We always go with either one of our many dogs, or a duck. lol

I am really hoping it was just the heat getting to her, but I have just never seen them like this before, and it isnt their first summer here so I am not sure on that.

Don't know about the trailer....what type of paint...although most paints no longer have lead. could be a pellet from a kids pellet rifle fired years ago...soil test wouldn't detect that. Lead from past activities is very common in the environment.

The paint on the trailer is would not imagine to be lead based. It is like car paint with a gel coat. I was just wondering if there could be lead on something with the trailer... Good point about the lead found elsewhere. She is def. my biggest digger duckie.

If it is, lead what should I be doing for her?

Not sure where you live, but could be old lead shot... but lead, like other poisoning, would likely present some incoordination or spasms.

Is she still doing OK? Hope it is just heat...

I woke up very early this morning, to find her dead. Thank you every one for the help and suggestions. It is just amazing how quick it all happened. I thought this duck could survive anything. She lived through a possum attack, and a dog mauling. (Those both happened a good while ago...nothing recent)
She will be missed. Most of all by our male who never left her side. He was laying quietly next to her when I found her. I just hope the over two don't get what ever she had. They are showing no symptoms so I am taking major preventative measures now.
Again thank you every one. I appreciate it, this is the first duck I have lost before, so it is still kind of a shock.

This needs to be brought up right away, forgive me. You may be able to get a necropsy done. In my state, I can take the body to the state university veterinary lab. It needs to be kept cool, not frozen, and brought in as soon as possible.
