Hello all,

This is my second small flock but first bout with silkies. I noticed one of my hens didn’t go into the coop last night so I helped her up. Today she didn’t go in and she keeps bringing her head upside down when I held her. Then when I put her into the coop she couldn’t get her balance and kept falling over. She’s about 6 months old, free ranges and eats layer crumble. I checked some other threads with mixed answers. Any ideas on where to start so I can help her? Thank you.

Welcome To BYC can you please post some Photos?

It does sound like the symptom Wry Neck. You can try giving 400IU Vitamin E and 1/4 tablet B-Complex daily along with a treat of egg.
See that she's eating/drinking well.

Any chance that she could have eaten something moldy or rotten, gotten into anything toxic, been in a fight and hit her head?

Thank you all. I pulled her from the rest of the flock, added vitamin E and selenium to her food and water. I’ll keep an eye on her for a while. Seems like early wry neck.
