maggootssss....I hate them. They are disgusting. A few months ago I rescued a 1 month old puppy from the streets. People told the puppy was left and had been alone 5 DAYS in the street, At my lunch time I took him home. He had just a small cut in one of his sides. I fed him and left him in a box inside my bathroom. When I returned a 6 pm he had a hole of about inch and a half full of maggots. I became hysterical. Called my sister because she is a vet student and she told me to take out all the maggots. Knew nothing about the maggot spray so I worked with twisters pulling out the maggots refraining my instinct of trowing up. It took me 6 hours to clean him...he had layer after layer of worms....big deep hole. I had hin inside a bucket full of warm water....i even used a tooth brush to scrub the maggots out. Next day when I got home at lunch time to feed him he had more maggots. This time coming out his penis, between his fingers (you could see tendons and all) , from his mouth, and he had new holes in other parts of his skin. I cleaned him again. no more problem with maggots. But the vet had to give him something for the skin. Here is him 3 months later. He has a 2 inches scar with no hair in the biggest hole they made on him.

Those maggots were eating live flesh....and at what speed!!!...but the fly eggs from what the maggots come from hatches at 24 to 48 hours. So if you clean the animal and keep cleaning and don't allow more flys near him you are out of the woods in a few days. I need that fly/ maggot killer just in case.
