Help! Skiddish Chicken

So my chicken was on my neighbors roof and i got her down but we cant grab her shes skiddish and pecks us, my other chickens are fine but my new chickens dont like people and i need help on how to get her safely without her leaving my property.

Hello there and welcome to BYC!

Does she go into the coop at night? If she does, you might get her at night and trim one wing down so she can't fly onto the roof. Trim off a little over half of her primary wing feathers on one side only. Leave the other wing full. This will keep her off balance so she can't fly up to the roof.

Then you need to work with her a bit. Use food as bribery. Food is a good bonding agent. Keep her in a run and go sit with her every day and bring some goodies. Over time she should improve.

They do make nets and hooks to catch chickens. I have never used them but some members use them with success.

Hello and Welcome To BYC! You've gotten some good suggestions above about bribing them with food and trimming wings, night time is generally the easiest time to catch them. You might also want to keep the new chickens in a cage or pen for awhile until they get used to you and where home is.

Can you borrow a fish net to catch her? Do you have an outdoor run? If you cover it, you won't have chickens flying out. Luckily no predator got her (yet)
