I'm supposed to lockdown today but I have a smaller egg and it has pipped! The eggs are still in the turner! Should I wait for it to hatch out before opening or should I go ahead now while it's still in the shell to take them all out and remove turner???

Welcome to BYC! Glad you joined us! If they were my eggs I would take them off the turner and put them in egg cartons, than close up the incubator and put some wet paper towels in to get the humidity back up again.

Thanks! I've been visiting and reading the forums for awhile and usually find answers to any issues/questions...this is a tricky one though! Thought I would finally join and ask :)

Sorry but, I have never incubated eggs. I wouldn't want to offer any suggestions except to head for the Incubation and Hatching threads for experienced advice from people who have done so. Sending good hatching vibes your way

Thanks! I did take them out, bumped up humidity and placed them in egg cartons. Out of 38 had 31 hatch no problems. 4 had no pips/didn't hatch. The small one I ended up assisting and is ok but one leg is splaying a bit so trying different hobbles. Another one I tried to assist after it pipped and stopped but shouldn't have, it's neck was twisted and we had to cull. A late hatcher had no visible problems, just went bleh in the brooder and died. So 32 out of 38 total thrived - pretty good!
