Hi guys, had an incident last night and cant figure out what happened, any thoughts?

Coop is up on stilts, probably 3 feet up.
Chickens are 11 weeks. 7 bantam and 2 large. Plus 2 6 week old in a crate.

Woke up this morning and door was open. It has a wooden turning lock.

Small amount of blood spatter in coop. Small amount of feathers in coop and outside the coop.

1 chicken wondering around looking for friends. 2 6 week olds still in crate.

6 missing chickens.

We have several acres of cleared land, no trees other than tree line, just grass. Took tractor around treeline, no signs of anything, no blood, no grass flattened, no feathers.

Any idea what could do that?

Hoping they all ran to safety and will show up later.

No run, just coop. They free range all day 8-8. This happened at night/early morning.

Arial predator maybe. Hopefully it only took one and you'll find the rest. Good luck mate, that is always a tough pill to swallow.

Thanks guys, unfortunately none returned.

Ill be fox proofing the coop even more.
