Help Staples?? Case solved

I posted this a minute ago in another topic but I think it belongs here. I bought a 6 week old cochin hen today and I just got a closer look at her and she has staples under her wingWHY???? would that be?

If its a single, metal clamp vs. staple, its a system of identification---like the metal rings applied to the ankles of chickens.

No there are like 6 staples in a line on each wing.

Ok on closer inspection there just the way her feathers are coming in my son was insisting they were staples so we held her down and looked closer they are not case solved sorry.
