Help! Strange bugs on my new coop!

Did they come with the coop? Are they termites? Can you get a close up pic of one of them? That would really help.

My husband was able to get this pic...

They look like termites.

They swarm like that looking for more wood to eat.

Watch for their tubes going up to the walls. If you find them, you can use the new bait and poison traps

Do they swarm overnights they were not there yesterday, and today the entire coop is covered...

They swarm very quickly and it last a relatively short time

I’m not sure what those are but I my coop has suffered from mites before mine although we’re smaller and more round. We had only four chickens so we trashed the coop and bought another one and sprayed all the inside and outside with a poison that wouldn’t harm the chickens and kill all termites if sprayed and used correctly. I hope they aren’t mites because if so you need to do something about them right away.

They look like thrips (not a parasite but can do damage to plants). Your chicks will probably dine heartily on them!

It’s the strangest thing... today they are nearly completely gone.. and termite guy said “not a termite” but had no other suggestion for what they might be... they are not on the chickens at all. I inspected each one today.. ‍

They were likely thrips and had just hatched.

Do keep an eye on the chickens for mites though.
