So I had a peahen show up last night. She was roosting on my chicken coop when I went to put my chickens up. I have 3 different coops, 1 of just chickens, 1 with chickens and turkeys, and 1 with ducks and in the center of all of it I have free range food and water (I’m sharing this bc people have told me I shouldn’t feed it and it would leave, but she had already been there and eating the food). I thought she would leave and go home the next morning, and she wasn’t in sight, so I let my chickens out. I went to check on them around 11-12 and the peahen was IN the coop with the chickens and turkeys chowing on the food.

Ever since she showed up, her mouth has been wide open. She has been eating and drinking, or at least trying to, and she’s acting what I think is normal (I’ve never had peafowl). She was exploring/flying this afternoon. I have no history on her obviously, no idea how old, nothing. She’s pretty big I think, probably 3ish feet long. I don’t mind treating her, I’ve been looking on local sites for anyone missing her. I took a picture of the inside of her mouth, the stuff on her bottom jaw is hard.
The first picture is for size reference (hubby is 6’5”) so she’s a big girl!

Would it be silly if I said I think it looks like chicken/bird poop in her beak? Would she let you scrape it out of her mouth or is it attached?

I don't own peafowl so it may be wise to wait for someone else's opinion, I'm just trying to help somehow. She is so pretty!

No that’s not silly at all! I’m clueless with this girl, I have never had peafowl. Another person on a Facebook post told me it’s most likely canker. So I’m going to treat for that and hope for the best! It’s hard in her mouth, like canker sores. So that’s what we’re treating!
