Hi, need help please. My drake has had what looks like the beginnings of bumblefoot for all of winter and I haven’t been able to get rid of it. It’s a very small spot and he doesn’t even seem to know it’s there. Been treating with epsom salt baths, vetrimyacin and terrasil. Today however, when he was playing outside I noticed he was limping all of a sudden. When I brought him inside (they come inside at night) I cleaned him up and noticed his middle toe was very swollen and he was limping quite a bit. I treated his bumble foot. But now I am wondering if it is bumble foot and if his swollen toe is related or what is going on. Any advice is greatly appreciated. He was playing in the grass and mud today. I always check the grass for items that could be of danger. Thanks.

I’ve never personally dealed I with bumble foot on any of my ducks but you seem to know what you’re doing. I would keep doing what you have been and hopefully it will improve. I’m sorry if this advice isn’t great, I’ve never had to deal with this but I wish both you and your drake the best of luck and I hope he gets better soon. Oh yeah and :welcome

looks like bumble foot.
Continue with Epsom salt soaks and add clear iodine to the procedure. Take a q tip to smear it on top and bottom hopefully the clear iodine will help bring the bumble to the surface so it can be removed keep us updated!

One thing you probably know is bumble is staff infection so this needs to be taken care of because it can move into the bone and eventually the blood stream antibiotics maybe needed.
