hi, i know this might not belong here, but i cant find anywhere else to post it.

i am picking up a 1-month old silkie in visalia(3-4 hours away from where i live) and i need some tips on how to keep my pullet comfortable. I currently have a carrier that is for hamsters/rats/mice because i cant find anything bigger than that to travel with (besides my GIANT brooder and coop) i have done it before with a 3 month old silkie, and he had no problem in it. i just need some tips on keeping her comfortable in the car.

thanks,
Caohorse

I haven't taken a bird that far, but did do several hour-long rides a few Xs w/ a few different birds.

My inclination was to give them as much room as possible but they kept standing up...and falling over. Once they learned to sit for the ride they were much happier!

the cage is probably fine. Just offer food and water before you leave and then maybe halfway into the trip but I wouldnt leave in the cage because it would spill

cardboard box with holes in it and some pine shavings along with something to peck at and they will be fine.

thank you everyone for your advice! it will really help me on saturday...
