I am in the process of warming up my incubator and have 2 thermometers in it. One is an Accurite and the other is a Taylor brand. My problem is that one is reading 99.0 with humidity at 42-43 and the other is reading 99.7 with humidity at 51. Not sure which is right? I am using the forced air Hovabator. I know different thermometers wii vary but should I leave as is or make ajustments?

Thanks
Joanne

I am going to assume that the probes are not right on top of each other. In that type of incubator your heat will differ from one point to another, why , because the fan causes air currents, that circulate the air and the air humidity will depend on the friction of the water molecules vs air speed.

The good news is the variance you are reporting is not significant.

I notice the same thing in my bator when I first turn it on, after it warms up for a while both the thermometers seem to stay about the same !!!

How long has it been running for ??

I have had it running now for about 24 hours and temp and humidity are still running about what I posted earlier.
Went ahead and set 9 White Orp eggs in the bator and gave 2 to my broody silkie. Wish me luck and thanks.
