Help! The baby just hatched but didn't digest all the yolk!

Is there a chance that the baby will survive? It seems fine, peeping a wobbling about... but will it die because it didn't digest all yolk?

Unfortunately it has a 50% chance. i had one that hatched like that and lasted a day, whereas a friend of mine had one and it managed just fine.

It really depends on how much is not absorbed. If it's a really tiny bit, they can still pull that in. If it's a lot, they usually end up tearing it open or stepping on it and passing away. Try to keep the chick quiet and by itself and see how it does.

This is usually caused by too high of temps in the hatcher - causes improper absorption and closure of the naval. It can also happen when the chick is too anxious to hatch and not quite ready.
