Exactly - you never see deer in a college dorm! *giggle*I'm an Irish Spring fan lol...to each his own I guess. Most people like it where I come from...pretty popular scent in the college dorm. But anyways, it is an awesome deterrent for deer in gardens. Almost has an invisible fence effect.
Oh yeah it does have a nice scent, but on its own it's so very strong to my nose that one whiff & I've had my week's worth. But then I'm super sensitive to smells.
Also, I should update. I keep a bar hung out front at my 'show bed' of hostas & the deer haven't touched it all year. They usually go for it twice a year - once in the spring/summer when it's in full growth & in the fall when it's just starting to recover from the deer attack. It's officially summer & it's completely untouched.
However, the bed that I left to fend for itself in the weedy area was eaten down, almost every single leaf. There's thistle in there & other sharp things they'd have to dig through to get it. Yet they walked right by the easily reachable scented bed.
Go go, Irish Spring!
