Help! thermometer and incubator are not saying the same temp /humidity

Hiya everyone I’m really in need of some advice I’m on day 7 of incubation I bought a thermometer today to keep my mind at rest with the temp in the incubator and the temperature on my thermometer isn’t matching my incubator temp iv candled my eggs and 2 are no longer alive iv calibrated the incubator as when I first put in in and left it 10 mins it said 39.C ! but I’m worried because could the thermometer be wrong any help will be great thanks
