Hi everyone. A momma duck hatched eggs in my front yard and abandoned a lot of them that hadn’t hatched yet. 3 hatched perfectly fine and I was able to reunite them but 1 hatched and it came out with its eyes closed and could not stand up or hold it head up. I kept it with me to try end save it but unfortunately it passed away. 5 mins ago my mom discovered another baby that hatched and it came out in the same condition but this baby moves around more and is chirping way more. I really want to try and save it does anyone have any suggestions on what I can do??? I’m putting it under a lamp
To keep it warm

If this is a Mallard duckling you need to contact a water fowl rehabber. Your DNR should know of one or contact your vet or a vet they may know of one. This is a wild duck and it's illegal to keep them. Saying that its too hard to stand by and watch them die. So for now try and find a rehabber and keep it warm, newly hatched they don't eat or drink for 24 hr to 36 hrs so no need to worry if it's not doing either of them, Whats nice about a rehabber is they know how to raise them so they can be released and live as they were intended.

Thank you so much for all your advice! I actually ended up taking the baby to a non profit organization called Duck Haven and they’re going to rehabilitate it!!!
