Hi! I have 8 chickens and 1 rooster. A broody jersey giant hen has been sitting on 5 eggs now for 20 days. She is in a plastic 10'high tub filled w/ hay in the chicken coop. All the rest have free range in an enclosed fenced in yard and come in at night to roost...

What should I do when they hatch? How do I feed the babies seperately from the rest w/ medicated feed? Do I need to seperate these babies and momma from the rest?? Can I keep them together some way??

She's a large beautiful jersey giant who lost a wing to a raccoon, she's a great little momma called Danny. (Short for Lt. Dan from Forrest Gump!) [IMG]

She is likely going to need her own space to raise her chicks or you'll have to set up a brooder and let her go back to the flock.
