help - tom killing poults

I have 2 Bourbon red hens, 1 Royal palm tom. We took out the tom thinking he was not allowing them to eat, that worked they all started eating g. Now we have 2 hens with the babies, now one hen is fighting with the other hen to stay on her nest for her. She dust bath, so the other hen got off the nest, but the other hen pushed her back on her nest. What's going on? What do we do? Need help?

Another question when the Tom was in the picture the hens and babies were not eating. Now that one hen will not take care of the babies, she's pushing the other Turkey hen onto her nest to do it. She hatched the most babies but acts like she doesn't want to stay on her nest and be a mother.

While most turkey hens are good mothers, not all turkey hens are good mothers. Remove the hen that is causing the problems. She can go in with the tom you moved. Leave the other hen with all the poults.

Do this when you have the time to stay and observe the results. In the worst scenario, take all the poults and put them in a brooder.
