I hatched out a bunch of standard bronze turkeys in the early Spring, and today one of the customers who bought one as a pet came by and was very upset due an injury the turkey sustained from a goat butting it.

I told her I would try and help before euthanizing her, but I have no idea what to do. I have made splints before with turkeys, but this turkey's leg is backwards... The joint at the knee won't allow me to reposition the leg so that it's infront like on a normal leg.

She is eating and seems vibrant, but I have no idea what to do or if she is in any pain.

Please help ASAP.

From further research on the internet, it seems that the turkey may have a slipped tendon.

Any advice? Should I try and splint it in place to immobilize it? The turkey is MUCH smaller than the ones from the same hatching that I kept.

I just splinted it with a popsicle stick and surgical tape. She is eating and drinking water so perhaps there is hope for her?? I feel bad.

Tell me how it ends up.
