Well, I have free ranging peafowl that mated for the first time this year. I followed them around and found their nests (they led me right to them!!!) Each nest had 3-4 eggs. I placed them in the bator and its only been 14 days, but three have pipped. Being unexpected - the humidity is too low. I cranked it up, but is it a lost cause?? I want to get in there and take the shell off, or wrap it in a warm towel. What to do???

Don't take the shell off. It will cause them to dry out faster. Just keep the lid on the bator and let nature do the rest. Only help them hatch if it is absolutely necessary.

I have one that has hatched thus far, still waiting on 2 pips. Cross your fingers!!
