I purchased this hen at a local auction (surprised to find her as they are usually farm birds intended for slaughter) Problem: I have NO experience with bantam varieties, so I do not know what she is (other than pretty!)......

My best guess: Old English Game Bantam, a Silver Quill

Anyone have any ideas!?!

4hchickmama: OEGB stands for Old English Game Bantam

Aylas Angels: I was actually leaning towards a Japanese Bantam, a silver partridge, like this cochin bantam below: Because it looks like your hen has really short legs. Maybe get some more pictures?

her shot legs that can barely be seen plus the way she holds herself and her tail all indicate that she is a Japanese bantam not oegb

Thank you all!

I do believe the "Silver Partridge" better describes her coloring, but for her height: I cannot get a good pic of her standing up!

Here's a better picture.... she is SUPER wild, so I cannot get her to strike a pose (at least not while I've got the camera on her!). She stands real erect, a lot like my Boss' Seramas do. When she is upright she is 1/2 - 1in taller than in this pic....

She is FEISTY too, attacked the tar out of my Standard Cochins!

Here's a video... still not the greatest bc she is ANGRY I brought her back into the house to help with getting her more handleable.... She seems too tall to me to be a Japanese Bantam, but again: IDK anything about Bantams....

I do know she is 2x the size of my Boss' Serama Hen & a hair smaller than my 2mo old Olive Egger Pullets.....

Her type says OEGB not Japanese. Japanese Bantams carry their tail "sufficiently forward of perpendicular as to almost touch the back of the head". In addition her legs are obviously too long for her to be a Japanese or at least a Japanese pf any quality.

now seeing the new pics she looks like the oegb we have around here in every way. in the first pic she looks like a jap but in all the others an oegb...i'm going with an oegb on her
