the water we have to give them is big and it hangs on the chicken coop, and I guess the chicks just did not know there was water hanging above them.

If they can't reach it, or don't know it's there - they can't drink it.

Every living thing needs water. That's basic common sense. I would do a lot more research before trying again.

Heres some basic things you need to know.

you need to make sure everything is in reach and known to the chickens
you should always look out for signs of dieases and problems with the chickens, and knowing when to seperate

i recommend the chicken health book. Its on amazon for cheap and gives you lots of information and good knowledge.

Yep. practice makes perfect but sometimes you have to wait until practicing again. in this sense, like overo said OP, try and do much more research before going to do it again.
