HELP Upside down chick

My eggs are all in a egg carton. I put them in big side up. My first chick started pecking away at the bottom of the shell. I took it out of the carton and laid it on its side. Is that ok?

yeah that's fine

I have loads of chicks that zip pointy end

and am yet to loose one to DIS


ok well I did loose one that zipped pointy end but that was a few hours after it hatched and was drying off (think is was another reason not pointy end)

when the chick dies in shell anything upto 3 days before hatch for what ever reason it may be

its called DIS rather than quitter

Upside down chick is fine. I can't tell which one it is, since there were three in the incubator and none were near that shell. So, all seems well for the first 9 eggs. The last chick isn't doing so well. I helped it out of the shell because it was stuck in there for 2 days. I think the membrane was too tough. Anyway, it is alive but not doing well.
